The QM IDA is led by a team of dedicated instructional design professionals. QM IDA members choose the leadership in elections held every three years. The current leadership team was elected in 2020.

Stephen Kaufman
Steve is a Senior Instructional Designer at the University of Akron. Prior to joining UA, Steve served as the Associate Director of Online Learning at Ashland University. Currently, he serves as one of the Ohio QM Consortium’s State Leads and is the chair of their executive committee.

Dr. Rebecca Graetz
Dr. Rebecca Graetz is the Sr. Instructional Designer at Thomas More University. She currently works consulting with faculty on quality course design (all modalities) with an emphasis on accessibility and inclusiveness for all students as well as coaching the instructional community on how to teach online.

Melissa Kaufman
Melissa Kaufman is the Director of Academic Innovation for the Dornsife School of Public Health, Drexel University (DSPH). There she oversees the schools online program working with faculty to develop online courses and programs. Ms. Kaufman received her MS in Human Resource Development with an Instructional Design and eLearning concentration in 2016. She is currently enrolled in the EdD Educational Leadership and Management program at Drexel’s School of Education with an expected completion date of Summer 2021.

Heidi Schroeder
Heidi Schroeder collaborates with faculty to design, develop, and review online courses as a Senior Instructional Designer at the George Washington University School of Nursing. Heidi is a Quality Matters certified Master Reviewer and Online APPQMR and IYOC workshop facilitator. She has presented at numerous regional and national conferences and served as a pre-conference speaker for the 2019 Quality Matters Connect conference. Heidi is an Adjunct Instructor at USF and has been recognized as an “Incredi-bull Critical Thinking” Faculty member.

Christie Hayes
Christie Hayes is currently the Instructional Design Manager at Georgia Tech Professional Education. In this role, she supports and manages a group of seven highly talented and skilled individuals, in the design and development of online/ at-scale degree and professional development programs. She works very closely with the stakeholders to create and deploy initiatives to help increase capacity, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of developing and delivering online courses across GTPE’s various program portfolios, with an unwavering commitment to quality.

Nadia Jaramillo Cherrez
Nadia Jaramillo Cherrez is an enthusiastic instructional design specialist at Oregon State University Ecampus. She partners with instructors to develop online and hybrid courses that incorporate learner-centered approaches, educational technologies, and high-quality standards. With almost 20 years in education in Ecuador and the United States, she advocates for designing learning experiences that are meaningful and impactful not only for the learners’ academic growth, but also for their personal growth.
